We at the Athenaeum take nothing more seriously than the safety of our guests, staff, volunteers and vendors. We want to give everyone involved in GermanFest an optimal experience, but that must never come at the expense of safety. The Athenaeum Foundation has implemented the following policy for GermanFest 2021 that is guided by our core values in conjunction with local, state, and federal COVID-19 guidance, recommendations, and policies. 

This policy is subject to change without notice in accordance with COVID-19 regulatory guidance.

  • All event participants (guests, staff & vendors) are required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or negative test results in order to gain entry to GermanFest. 
  • Children under the age of 12 do not need to show a negative test result to attend GermanFest but are strongly encouraged to wear a mask.
  • Verifiable proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test must be provided via the Bindle app, https://joinbindle.com/learnmore.
  • COVID-19 tests must be administered within 72 hours of October 9th in order to be accepted. Tests administered more than 72 hours before October 9th will not be accepted.
  • Failure to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test will result in non-admittance to the event.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination can be verified in two different ways:
    • Upload negative test results through the Bindle Health app and present a verified entry pass on a smartphone.
    • Bring the physical vaccination card accompanied with a photo ID.    
  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 test can be verified by:
    • Upload negative test results through the Bindle Health app and present a verified entry pass on a smartphone.
  • Participants who provide fraudulent vaccine or test documentation will be asked to leave the event and reports will be filed with the appropriate authorities.
  • Participants assume all risks associate with COVID-19.
  • Participants who have tested positive for COVID-19, experienced COVID-19 symptoms, or been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within 14 days prior to the event should not attend the event. 
  • Participants unwilling to accept this policy may request a refund on tickets that have been purchased in advance by contacting info@athenaeumindy.org.
  • The Athenaeum Foundation encourages all event attendees to get vaccinated against COVID-19 out of respect for the well-being of those around them and themselves.

Proof of vaccination

Proof of vaccination will be required to attend GermanFest on October 9th, 2021. Only guests who are fully vaccinated or have had a negative COVID-19 test, administered within 72 hours of October 9th, will be permitted to attend.

“Full vaccination” means that either 14 days have passed since receiving the second dose of FDA or WHO authorized double-dose vaccines or that 14 days have passed since receiving the sole dose of FDA or WHO authorized single-dose vaccines.

To make it as streamlined as possible, as well as to offer options for those concerned with privacy, guests may present vaccine or negative COVID-19 test verification in one of the following ways:

  • The Bindle app pass – shown via smartphone (For a negative COVID-19 test result, this is the only way to verify)
  • The physical vaccine card – along with a photo ID
  • An official government certificate of vaccination. (Indiana residents may click here to access a certificate of vaccination.)

The Indiana Independent Venue Alliance and Arts Council of Indianapolis are partnering with tech company Bindle to support entertainment venues through the pandemic. Bindle allows users to store their Covid-19 test and vaccine records and prove health status when visiting a shared space.
