Ghost Hunters to air episode at the Athenaeum
Oct. 9 episode highlights one of the most haunted buildings in Indiana
INDIANAPOLIS – An episode of the popular A&E TV series, “Ghost Hunters”, will feature the Athenaeum and premier on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 9 p.m. EST. The episode, “Dancing with the Dead”, will expose paranormal activity believed to be occurring throughout the 126-year-old building.
President of the Athenaeum Foundation, Craig Mince, encourages viewers to tune in for the premier, but is also offering an opportunity for fellow ghost hunters alike to attend a free watch party of the episode at the Athenaeum at 7 p.m. on Oct. 23.
“Since my first day on the job, all I’ve heard about from the staff and tenants of the Athenaeum are stories of all the spirits that call the building home,” said Mince. “Me being a bit intrigued, and a tad scared, I felt like I wanted to know more about spirits and their stories. Having heard that A&E was resurrecting Ghost Hunters I felt like there was no better team of folks to help us get to the bottom of this mystery.”
This past July, the show ghost hunted and filmed in the Athenaeum for five days. Throughout their visit, they used the following Audio & Video equipment:
- Binaural Microphones
- Digital Audio Recorder
- Tesla Speaker
- Data Logger
- Tri-Feld Natural EMF Detector
- 4K Infrared Cameras
The Athenaeum hosts several overnight ghost tours throughout the year. The tour, which takes place from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m., allows attendees to investigate in 14 haunted locations throughout the building. Participants must be 16 years or older and anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
